The argument has been made that Josh Hader is the most valuable reliever in baseball. The 24 year old left-hander is reviving the role of old school fireman in Milwaukee and is taking the league by storm after making his first Opening Day roster in 2018. He’s worked in seven games, thrown 11 ²⁄₃ innings, and has yielded only two runs so far this season. Oh, and he’s got a ho-hum strikeout rate of 61% - of the 41 batters that Hader has faced this season, he’s set 25 of them down on strikes. With Corey Knebel on the shelf, Hader has also recorded his first two career saves, both of which covered six outs. The dynamic southpaw is most known for his unhittable fastball, but this season has unleashed his wicked slider more often. Hader’s career has only just begun, and it looks like Milwaukee should have one of the top relievers in baseball for a long time moving forward.
