Milwaukee Brewers third base prospect Lucas Erceg was removed from last night’s Biloxi Shuckers game after he was struck in the head by a pitch.
Erceg was leading off the 8th inning when Montgomery Biscuits pitcher Matt Krook let one get away that struck the lefty right above the ear.
A picture of Erceg’s helmet from tonight. Note the laces imprinted around the temple. Scary stuff, hope we find out how he’s doing soon. pic.twitter.com/owXoD1LQRk

After the hit, Erceg collapsed to the ground. Shuckers head trained Kevin Creighton rushed to his side. It seemed Erceg was aware of his surroundings and was able to communicate before walking off the field under his own power.
The Shuckers list Erceg as day-to-day and say another evaluation is coming today.
In the game, Erceg was hitting 1-3 before the incident. He would be replaced by Jake Hager.
Erceg’s having a great rebound year in AA Biloxi. He’s hitting .319 with an .820 OPS as the regular three-hole hitter on the Shuckers.
