Two second place ball clubs square off at Coors Field in Denver tonight, with the Milwaukee Brewer (22-16, a half gameback of the Cardinals) visiting the Colorado Rockies (21-17, 3.5 games back of the Diamondbacks).

Brandon Woodruff (1-0, 3.86) is back up from AAA to make tonight's start on the mound for the Brewers, as Zach Davies is not yet ready to return from a strained rotator cuff. The Rockies answer with Chad Bettis (4-1, 2.05), a righty who has been very effective so far in 2018, 44 innings with 32 hits allowed (just four homers) and 14 walks. He has only struck out 5.5 batters per nine innings, and relies on four pitches (fastball, cutter, change, and curve), throwing the fastball just 45% of the time. So far this season he is averaging just south of 90 mph on his fastball.
