Milwaukee Brewers to recall Ji-Man Choi

The Milwaukee Brewers placed Ryan Braun on the 10-day disabled list yesterday for a stiff back, his second trip to the DL this season. With the off day the Brewers didn't need to make an immediate move to fill the spot, but according to reports out of Colorado Springs the move will be to bring up Ji-Man Choi. The left-handed hitting first baseman (and sometimes outfielder) made Milwaukee's Opening Day roster this year after signing a minor league contract last offseason and came up big with a pinch-hit double during the team's 2-1, 12 inning victory over San Diego. But Choi was optioned back to the minors after the game and has been in Colorado Springs ever since. He's raked for the Sky Sox, batting .295/.421/.473 with four home runs in 140 plate appearances for a 139 wRC+. He figures to see some time at first base while spelling Jesus Aguilar, and should be able to provide some left-handed power off the bench during his upcoming stint with the Brewers.
