It'll be hard for Freddy Peralta to match what he did in his Major League debut, when he set a franchise record with 13 strikeouts in his first career start on Mother's Day.
He did it with his mom in attendance, making it even more special. He has a chance to do something similar tonight in his second start -- it's his dad's birthday, and he'll once again be in the house.
Only in baseball: Six days after his magical Mother’s Day against the Rockies, Freddy Peralta will make start No. 2 Saturday against on his father’s birthday. Yes, dad is here in Minneapolis.
