It'll be hard for Freddy Peralta to match what he did in his Major League debut, when he set a franchise record with 13 strikeouts in his first career start on Mother's Day.
He did it with his mom in attendance, making it even more special. He has a chance to do something similar tonight in his second start -- it's his dad's birthday, and he'll once again be in the house.
Only in baseball: Six days after his magical Mother’s Day against the Rockies, Freddy Peralta will make start No. 2 Saturday against on his father’s birthday. Yes, dad is here in Minneapolis.— Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) May 19, 2018
The Brewers hope to win their first series against the Twins in more than 2 years with a win tonight. Peralta will be facing off against fellow rookie Fernando Romero. The Top-100 prospect has an ERA of 0.54 in 3 starts coming into tonight.
First pitch is set for 6:10.
