Brewers prospect Josh Pennington announces retirement after arm injuries

It's easy to forget, but the Brewers got more than just Travis Shaw when they traded Tyler Thornburg to the Boston Red Sox. One of the prospects they got in return was Josh Pennington, a young pitcher who had put up good numbers in the minors but struggled with various arm injuries.

After pitching in just 10 games last year and 2 games this year, Pennington is deciding to hang it up at age 22. He made the announcement on Instagram this afternoon.

Best of luck to Josh in life after baseball, even if it's happening much sooner than he could have ever expected.
