The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Twitter that Zach Davies has been placed on the 10-day DL with right rotator cuff inflammation. This move is retroactive to April 30. The club says Davies is only expected to miss one start.

Davies has been solid to start the year, but not great. In two of his first three starts, he allowed 5 or more runs. Since his last bad outing, he has allowed four runs over 18 innings.
Due to the club’s off-day today and on Monday, they won’t need to call someone up to replace Davies in the rotation. Instead, the pitchers will line up as follows:
Friday vs. Pit: Junior Gerra
Saturday vs. Pit: Jhoulys Chacin
Sunday vs. Pit: Chase Anderson
Tuesday vs. Cle.: Wade Miley
Wednesday vs. Cle.: Junior Guerra
Regarding who the club may call up, there are plenty of options. Boone Logan and Stephen Vogt are currently at Biloxi on rehab assignment. Logan has made two appearances - one where he never recorded an out, and the other was a perfect inning with a K. Vogt has only made one appearance, hitting a homer in two at-bats with Biloxi.
Calling up Brandon Woodruff might make the most sense. Since he’d be brought up for an injury, the club can ignore the minimum required time he needs to stay in the minors after an option. His flexibility to provide extended outings or help at the end of the game is undoubtedly valuable.
