My, but these picks come fast! Sticking with alliteration, the Milwaukee Brewers have selected their second pitcher of the day, this time a high school right hander. Justin Jarvis is a 6’2”or 6’3”, 165 pound prep that would appear to be more of a project on the hill than fourth rounder Aaron Ashby.
Jarvis has a fastball that sits in the low nineties. However, earlier this season he had a perfect game in which he struck out 18 of 21 batters. His curve hasn’t been a solid pitch so far, but his change-up shows promise. A deep-dip delivery leads to some inconsistency.
How Jarvis takes to coaching and instruction will determine how fast he moves through the Milwaukee system.
