The dog days have come early for the Brewers as they try to survive the last leg of their marathon stretch of three weeks without a day off before the All-Star break.
The Brewers haven't lost four in a row since April 26-29, but are in jeopardy of matching that with the first of their two games against the Pirates today. They're also now in a virtual tie for first place in the NL Central after the Cubs came back to beat the Padres late Friday night in San Diego, although they can take full control of the division again regardless of what the Cubs do if they sweep the doubleheader today.
Chase Anderson will take the ball for the Brewers first today, facing off against Ivan Nova, who the Brewers have had plenty of success against in the past. First pitch is set for just after 11:30 this morning.
