Nate Orf reportedly free, getting called up by Brewers
After seemingly years of calls to #FreeNateOrf, it looks like the Brewers' struggles in the middle infield may have finally brought his call-up.
While the Brewers have yet to announce it, Orf's amateur traveling team apparently has the scoop, saying the diminutive infielder is on his way to the big leagues.
The 28-year-old Orf is hitting .307/.412/.463 in 74 games with Triple-A Colorado Springs this year. He hit .320/.397/.507 there last year in a breakout season. A corresponding move will have to be made to get him on the 25-man roster. It could be as simple as putting Christian Yelich on the disabled list, or could be something like DFAing/J.J. Hoover-ing Mike Zagurski.
