The 32-year-old has an ERA of 3.78 (3.99 FIP) in 21 starts this year, striking out 103 in 114.1 innings but walking 57.
Over the past month, Gonzalez has a WHIP of 1.53 in five starts. His ERA over that period is 4.08.
Gonzalez is making $12 million in the last year of his deal with Washington, and will be a free agent at the end of the year.
