Brewers will not acquire Matt Harvey as Reds pull him back

60

The Brewers search for a starting pitcher will continue. After reports came out that the Brewers "won" the waiver claim for Matt Harvey earlier today, the two teams could not come to terms on a deal. Rather than save money, the Reds decided to hold on to Harvey and try to "gain positive momentum for our club". The Brewers will now move on to other potential waiver deadline trades. Meanwhile, Matt Harvey will face the Cubs this afternoon, and the Brewers won't be too sad about missing out on Harvey. As Jaymes noted earlier, his stats for his time with the Reds: 4.28 ERA/4.50 FIP/4.57 DRA.
