With heavy bullpen usage, the Milwaukee Brewers reworked their roster ahead of today’s series finale in Cincinnati:
RHP Jacob Barnes has been recalled and RHP Aaron Brooks has been selected from Triple-A @skysox. RHP Freddy Peralta and RHP Taylor Williams have been optioned there. RHP Ariel Hernández was designated for assignment. The 40-man roster remains at capacity. pic.twitter.com/RUM7I7jv2S

So that’s Jacob Barnes and Aaron Brooks added to the pen, with recently claimed pitcher Ariel Hernandez DFA’d (who knows, he might be back - with teams bringing guys up on Saturday with roster expansion he might slip through). Taylor Williams is back down to AAA for the time being, along with Freddy Peralta.
Brooks is stretched out as a starter, but will serve as a longman in the bullpen. He’s put up some impressive numbers since joining the Sky Sox rotation:
Aaron Brooks has been in the @skysox rotation since the middle of June. Twelve starts since then: 5-1 with a 2.34 ERA, 15 walks versus 50 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings. He's back in the bigs for the first time since 2015.

Peralta and Williams will be back soon, and this means that Junior Guerra will get another start. As of now, he’s listed as the starter on Sunday in Washington, with Zach Davies expected to make the start on Labor Day against the Cubs.
