After a deep breath on their off day, the Milwaukee Brewers (84-63) return home to Miller Park to open a three game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates (72-73). The Bucs have played Milwaukee very well so far this year, so hopefully they have the Brewers’ undivided attention. OK, they can glance at the scoreboard occasionally, but that’s it.

Chris Archer (4-7, 4.56), long rumored a target of the Brewers when he was with the Rays - before the Pirates decided that they didn’t need top prospects anymore - looks to throw a monkey wrench into the ultimately disinterested (in Archer, I mean) Brewers’ divisional title chase. Milwaukee will send out one of the pitchers that they DID trade for, lefty Gio Gonzalez (8-11, 4.40; 1-0, 0.00 for the Crew).
