Well! Can the Milwaukee Brewers (88-67) salvage their final series against the nefarious Pittsburgh Pirates (78-75) with a win today at PNC Park? Goodness, I hope so!
The Pirates aren’t starting their ace, or close to it, today, so hopefully the Brewer bats will wake up early and stay awake for the whole game, and hopefully the Chi Sox can frustrate their neighbors to the north today, and hopefully the Giants can find enough hitting and pixie dust to fight off The Cardinal Way, and hopefully the D’Backs are finally enough out of things to relax and play some good baseball against the Rox (and then the Cubs). Man, I’m hopeful today.
Wade Miley (5-2, 2.08) will be on the hill for Milwaukee today, and that makes me even more hopeful. Pittsburgh goes with Nick Kingham (5-6, 4.69). Kingham has started 13 games in his 16 appearances this season.
