Brewers look to sweep the Cubs and move within 2 of first

MLB: Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee Brewers
Yikes!
Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Brewers (79-61) look to complete a three game sweep of the Chicago Cubs (81-57) tonight at Miller Park. They’ve already completed a fifth straight series win, so a loss wouldn’t be a disaster...that would have been having lost the first two games and trying to salvage this one and stay in the Wild Card race. As it is, the Crew leads the Cards by 1.5 games for the first Wild Card spot.

But a loss would feel a bit like undoing all of the good accomplished in the first two games. At least for us fans; I’m sure the team would be more resilient.

The Cubs go with Jose Quintana (11-9, 4.21), and the lefty has been historically good against the Crew until his last time out, when Ryan Braun touched him up for two homers. His mound opponent will be Brewer ace Jhoulys Chacin (14-5, 3.53).

Bless our roof.
