There have been (many) seasons where winning the 81st game of the year was a cause for celebration for the Milwaukee Brewers franchise. Not so this season.
The Brewers (80-62) host the San Francisco Giants (68-74) this evening as Milwaukee looks to extend its lead on the Cards in the Wild Card (1.5 games) and contract their deficit in the NL Central (4 games) behind the Cubs. The Cubs may not cooperate, but they may do nothing...it’s still raining in D.C., so who knows when the last three games in the Cubs series will be played...it’s supposed to rain even more tomorrow.
Chris Stratton (9-8, 4.90) goes for the Giants, and Gio Gonzalez (7-11, 4.57) makes his Brewer debut.
Let’s see...if the Brewers can score four on three hits, imagine how many they’d get with twelve! (You don’t have to...it’d be sixteen!)
