Baseball America has continued to update their top prospect reports for 2019, and this week they will be releasing their official preseason top-100 prospect list. The Milwaukee Brewers will have two representatives on this year’s updated list. We won’t (officially) know which prospects or what the order will look like until Wednesday, but that shouldn’t stop us from speculating for now!
Milwaukee’s organization top-10 prospect list came out earlier this winter, headed at the top by #1 Keston Hiura and #2 Corbin Burnes (who BA still considers a prospect based on innings pitched, while other outlets have left him off 2019 lists due to his number of days in the Major Leagues). So, naturally, one might assume that they will the two Brewers found within the top-100 ranking.
But, how highly will Hiura be regarded after his MVP performance in the Arizona Fall League? Is he a top-20 overall prospect? Top-10? How much coal will be needed to fuel the hype train?!
And for Burnes, just how strongly will scouts believe that he can successfully transition to the big league rotation?
Baseball America will release the fully updated top-100 tomorrow, so be on the lookout for a more thorough analysis soon!
