At least Brice Turang got a hit in his first Spring Training at-bat

The Los Angeles Angels proved to be too much for the Milwaukee Brewers, dropping the Crew 4-3.

Milwaukee got ahead early in this one, thanks to a Corey Spangenberg solo bomb to lead off the game over Jaime Barria. Zack Brown and Burch Smith cruised through two scoreless innings, only giving up a walk each.

The Angels then tied the game when Bowdien Derby allowed a one-run bomb to Jarrett Parker in the third inning. Jon Olczak gave up three runs in the fifth inning on a solo homer and a two-RBI double.

Despite the loss, there were some positives for fans of the Menomonee Valley Nine’s farm system. Lucas Erceg stood out with a 2 for 2 performance that include a solo bomb and an RBI double. Brice Turang took his first ever Spring Training plate appearance and would hit a single and score a run.

The Crew takes on the San Diego Padres tomorrow at American Family Fields of Phoenix. Zach Davies is set to make his Spring debut with first pitch coming at 2:05 p.m. CST.
