Opening Day is down to 15 days away. The list of roster cuts continued today, as the Brewers elected to remove a few more players from the major-league camp. All of today’s cuts are players expected to be in the minors as well.

Mauricio Dubon is returning from ACL surgery this year, and could be a potential contributor to the 2019 season. He is currently listed at #6 on the Baseball America Milwaukee Brewers top prospects list, and #7 on the MLB.com Pipeline Brewers list. He was hitting .343/.348/.574 in Colorado Springs before the injury, and should be a starter in San Antonio for the upcoming season. He only appeared in one game this spring.

Meanwhile, Troy Stokes Jr. comes in at #15 on the MLB.com Pipeline Brewers Prospect list. In 26 PA this spring, he only hit .192/.276/.308. He spent 2018 in Biloxi and also played in winter ball for Aragua of the Venezuelan league, where he hit .298/.391/.447 in 110 PA. He spent all of 2018 in Biloxi, but a rough year there could keep him down for another year, though his winter ball performance may earn him a bump up to San Antonio.

Tyrone Taylor comes in at #27 on the FanGraphs top Brewers prospects lists, and could also see some time in the majors this year if needed. In 29 AB this spring, he hit .310/.333/.517, and is coming off of a year where he hit .278/.321/.504 with 20 HR and 13 SB. With several outfield players leaving the Brewers system over the last few years, he’s currently in position to be called up if needed in 2019.
