If you like well-pitched, briskly-played games, I’m sorry about the past couple days.
It’s been ugly at times for both the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs, but both teams have proved that their lineups are nothing to mess with, and games between these two can’t be assumed to be over until the final out is recorded.
Both team’s pitching staffs have been beaten to a pulp in the first two games of this series, with a combined 45 runs being scored. If baseball has taught us anything, it’s that we’re probably due for a 2-1 or 3-2 game today.
Zach Davies will take the mound for the Brewers, facing the pitcher he wants to be when he grows up, Kyle Hendricks.
Ryan Braun and Yasmani Grandal get Sunday off, while Travis Shaw returns to the lineup and Eric Thames gets a start after homering in each of the last two days.
