With their final selection on Day Two of the MLB Draft, the Milwaukee Brewers have chosen right-hander Taylor Floyd from Texas Tech at #313 overall. Floyd spent his first two collegiate seasons at Grayson County College, a JUCO school in Texas.

Floyd appeared in 23 games as a reliever for the Red Raiders this season and logged 45.0 innings with a 2.80 ERA. He was almost strictly a reliever in junior college as well, starting only once in 52 appearances before transferring. Floyd punched out 72 batters versus 19 home runs and yielded only one home run all year long.

Prior to the start of his junior season at Texas Tech, he was scouted as throwing his fastball in the 88-91 MPH range with a slider around 80 MPH.
