The Brewers’ first couple of games against the Marlins have been forgettable, to say the least.
Despite that, they’re still tied in the All-Important Win Column with the Chicago Cubs and have a 2-game lead in the wildcard race. They’ll hope to get back on the winning track Sunday afternoon against Caleb Smith, who has racked up the strikeouts this year but carries an extreme flyball tendency that could mean we’re in for an interesting warm afternoon at Miller Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. CDT. With a lefty on the mound, Hernan Perez (.311/.354/.600 for a .954 OPS against lefties) is in the lineup and hitting cleanup.
