After another close game late Wednesday night, the Brewers have a quick turnaround this afternoon for the series finale in Oakland, as they try to take a series from the AL wildcard hopefuls.
Chase Anderson, fresh off being named the team’s pitcher of the month for July, will take the ball against a familiar face in Homer Bailey.
Bailey is making his 4th start since coming to Oakland in a trade with Kansas City. The first three outings haven’t gone well, allowing 14 earned runs on 22 hits in 14.2 innings, although he has struck out 15.
Bailey is no stranger to the Brewers, of course, who have hit him to the tune of a 4.78 ERA in 28 career starts.
The other notable item this afternoon is the MLB debut of prospect Trent Grisham, who will give Lorenzo Cain a day off in centerfield and bat 9th.
First pitch is at the very precise time of 2:37 p.m. CDT.
