In his first game up with the Milwaukee Brewers, Trent Grisham will get the start in centerfield and bat ninth. Newly acquired Drew Pomeranz will also be joining the team for the series finale in Oakland.
To make room on the 25-man roster, Tyler Saladino and Taylor Williams were optioned to Triple-A San Antonio. With Saladino optioned, Craig Counsell says Mike Moustakas and Travis Shaw will be Orlando Arcia’s backups at shortstop for the time being.

Still waiting on 40-man news.
With multiple additions at the trade deadline, the Brewers still needed to make a 40-man roster move to get Grisham on the roster. To get that spot, the Brewers designated Jacob Barnes for assignment.

Trent Grisham certainly earned his way onto the major league club. The 2015 first round draft pick was headed toward being a bust, but 2019 has been his turnaround season as he has put up numbers even beyond draft day expectations. His slash lines with Biloxi (.254/.371/.514 with 13 home runs) and San Antonio (.381/.471/.776 with 13 home runs) have been exceptional, prompting Craig Counsell to say this:
How about this Craig Counsell quote on Trent Grisham:

"What he’s been doing at Triple-A since he got there is out-of-this-world-type stuff. It’s like the stuff Yelich was doing last year, basically. Maybe even a little better. So we’ve taken note of it."
