The Brewers were able to snap their losing streak on Monday night, even if it felt like it was just barely.
They’ll look to secure a series win tonight ahead of a planned Johnny Wholestaff day on Wednesday night. Who starts the game tomorrow depends on who gets used in relief tonight, which means Craig Counsell is likely hoping Chase Anderson can pitch fairly deep into tonight’s game.
It’s another new lineup for Counsell tonight, as Christian Yelich is getting the night off. Counsell and Yelich told reporters that there isn’t a pressing health issue with the reigning MVP, but they’re hoping giving him the night off will help stay ahead of a nagging back injury that’s flared up every once and awhile. The idea is it’s better to manage it now than have to deal with another serious flare-up in a couple weeks.
First pitch is at 6:05 p.m. CDT tonight.
Here’s tonight’s lineup for Game 2 vs. the Pirates at PNC Park!
