Last week, the Brewers made a few trades at the trade deadline to improve the team. They didn’t make any big moves, but did what they could to improve the team, both for this season and the future. As a recap, here are the deals that the Brewers made:
- Acquired Jordan Lyles from the Pirates, traded Cody Ponce.
- Acquired Jacob Faria from the Rays, traded Jesus Aguilar.
- Acquired Drew Pomeranz and Ray Black from the Giants, traded Mauricio Dubon.
- As this required clearing up some 40-man roster spaces, the following players were designated for assignment: Marcos Diplan (traded to Twins for Cash), Jacob Barnes (claimed on waivers), Donnie Hart (claimed on waivers).
None of these moves are like the bigger ones that the Brewers made last season, but it is still a set of moves that could improve the Brewers going forward. What do you think about these moves? Do you like the acquisitions the Brewers made? What about the overall approach? Vote in the polls below, then join us in the comments to discuss.
