Brewers/Cubs tickets go on sale Tuesday — for Wisconsin residents only

The Brewers are once again trying to limit the number of Cubs fans at Miller Park

As they have for the past couple years, the Brewers are once again giving Wisconsin residents the right of first refusal for single game Brewers/Cubs tickets at Miller Park.

This time, since the two teams open the 2020 season against eachother, that includes Opening Day tickets. The Badger State presale starts at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning and runs until just before midnight Thursday night.

Adam McCalvy has the details:

As the release from the Brewers notes, single-game tickets go on sale for the general public starting Saturday at 9 a.m.

This is a policy the Brewers have used multiple times in the past, including for postseason series that didn’t necessarily include the Cubs.

Still, it’s one that has drawn varying degrees of criticism — ranging from complaints of Little Brother-ism to being exclusionary for Brewers fans who don’t live in-state — over the years. Whether or not the policy is actually effective in keeping Cubs fans out of Miller Park is also debateable, considering a.) there are large amounts of Cub fans living in southern and western Wisconsin that will still have access to the tickets and b.) plenty of Brewers fans would rather just skip the volatile and confrontational experience of attending those games altogether.

Feel free to sound off on whether you think the presale idea actually works below.
