It looks like Eric Lauer will not be available for the start of the season as he will serve time on the injured list. That is the bad news. The good news is that Freddy Peralta and Corbin Burnes are healthy and look to be on track to make the Opening Day team. Right now one will take a rotation spot and the other will pitch out of the pen.
#Brewers manager Craig Counsell says that with Eric Lauer out, Freddy Peralta and Corbin Burnes are both projected to make the team, 1 in rotation and 1 in 'pen.

He reitirated that things/needs always change based on health and that he's confident both will start games this year
Manager Craig Counsell suggests both will start at some point this season. Nonetheless confidence abounds with the two young pitchers.

“Freddy is somewhere on the team. And I can tell you Corbin is somewhere on the team.”
Added how they are going to be used is not decided. Previously, had discussed Burnes possibly starting in AAA. For at least now, Lauer injury changing things
Lauer was off to a fantastic beginning in Spring Training this season. In two appearances this Spring, Lauer had pitched in 4.1 innings giving up one earned run while posting a 7:1 K:BB rate. Freddy Peralta was fantastic in winter ball and signed a long term contract with Milwaukee. Going into tonight’s game, Peralta was sporting a 3.52 ERA. Burnes is pitching as well as anyone this Spring.
