Christian Yelich’s massive contract extension with the Milwaukee Brewers is expected to be announced today.
Per Jon Heyman, the new deal will pay the former MVP $26 million per year once the extension kicks in after the next two seasons, making him the highest-paid Brewer in team history.
Ahead of that announcement, the Milwaukee’s Tailgate podcast crew got together for an !!EMERGENCY PODCAST!! to share our thoughts on the deal. Brad Ford, Ryan Topp and myself talk about why this deal seemed so unlikely for so long, whether there’s any worry about how Yelich will age in the back end of the deal, and answer some of your questions about the new contract.
Our next podcast will drop on Monday morning as usual, and will feature the annual Milwaukee’s Tailgate Prop Bets contest.
