The Milwaukee Brewers announced that they’ve cut 11 players from the Spring Training roster and have moved them to the Minor League Camp.

The team optioned Corey Ray and Trey Supak and reassisnged Lucas Erceg, Mario Feliciano, Payton Henry, Clayton Andrews, Jesus Castillo, Thomas Jankins, Drew Rasmussen, Miguel Sanchez and Ethan Small.

The move comes as no surprise. Now that we’re two weeks away from the start of the season, the Major League players will be getting more playing time, reducing the need for extra bodies late in games. Late-inning opportunities will now be given to players trying to hold or win roster spots, instead of prospects making a good impression.
