There hasn’t been any actual baseball played during what was supposed to be the 2020 MLB season, so tonight’s amateur draft represents the most noteworthy event in the sport since Spring Training was shut down in March. This isn’t your typical MLB Draft, though — there will be only five rounds, with deferred bonuses for those who are chosen and a maximum outlay of $20K for players who go undrafted. The 2020 MLB Draft begins tonight at 6:00 PM central, and the Milwaukee Brewers hold the #20 overall selection, a spot that they have never held before.
Will Tod Johnson choose to go with a hitter or a pitcher in the first round? An experienced player from college or someone from the prep pool? We’ll find out tonight!
Day 1 of the Draft — picks #1 through #37 — will be broadcast on ESPN and MLB Network and can also be streamed on MLB.com.
