The Milwaukee Brewers added outfielder Garrett Mitchell with the 20th pick of the 2020 MLB Draft.

Mitchell is a big hype outfield player. MLB Pipeline has him at the #6 on Baseball America and MLB Pipeline’s draft boards. He has true plus-plus speed, the defense to stick in center field and a good offensive history.

Despite his track record with the bat, teams do have some concerns about Mitchell’s swing. It will need some tweaks if he wants to get the most out of his plus raw power, but right now, it’s a lot of line drives. On top of that, there’s some concern among the league about his Type 1 diabetes.

MLB Pipeline’s Grade:
Hit: 60 | Power: 50 | Run: 70 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50 | Overall: 55

Mitchell certainly has superstar potential with his tools. There needs to be some work done before that potential becomes reality. If so, the Brewers could have a huge steal in this draft.

The Brewers have until Aug. 1 to sign Mitchell. Pick #20 comes with a $3,242,900 slot.
