After seeing the bats wake up facing anyone other than Kyle Hendricks on Saturday afternoon, the Brewers go for their first series win of the year this afternoon in a rubber match at Wrigley Field.
Both the Brewers and Cubs are sending guys to the mound who are prone to bouts with their control. Freddy Peralta makes his first start since signing a long-term deal with the Brewers this spring, while Tyler Chatwood returns to the Cubs’ rotation.
For the third day in a row, Craig Counsell has a different lineup, with Logan Morrison making his official Brewers debut at DH, batting 5th. Counsell is sticking with the righty/lefty matchup at Eric Sogard’s on-base skills at the top of the lineup, and Justin Smoak is once again batting cleanup. Orlando Arcia once again holds down the 9th spot in the order, behind Ben Gamel, who is making his second start in three days. Ryan Braun has another day off, as does Avisail Garcia.
Here’s this afternoon's lineup for the series finale against the Cubs at Wrigley at 1:20 p.m. CT.
