The Brewers are making their first roster move of the young season before this afternoon’s series finale in Chicago, activating left-hander Eric Lauer from the injured list and designating reliever Mike Morin for assignment.

Lauer missed much of Summer Camp being quarantined after potentially being exposed to COVID-19. He was able to pitch an inning late in camp as part of the Blue-Gold Series, but was still behind schedule compared to the rest of the team’s pitchers, and was deemed not ready for the start of the season.
Now, a few days into the schedule, Lauer is being activated. He figures to be a part of the starting rotation at some point, but it may not be for a few days. As of now, the Brewers’ probable pitchers for their upcoming series in Pittsburgh are Adrian Houser, Josh Lindblom and Brandon Woodruff. He could also potentially be used in a multi-inning role, similar to the way Brent Suter was used Saturday in Chicago.
