Both the Brewers and Pirates hope to rebound from a disappointing opening weekend tonight in the first game of a three-game set at PNC Park.
Adrian Houser gets his first start of the year, while the Pirates counter with Steven Brault. With the lefty on the mound, Craig Counsell gets to use the other half of a handful of platoons — Jedd Gyorko and Manny Pina get their first starts of the year at third base and catcher, respectively, and Ryan Braun returns to the lineup at DH. With the lefty-swinging Eric Sogard on the bench, Lorenzo Cain moves up to the leadoff spot.
On the Pittsburgh side, Gregory Polanco returns after being diagnosed with COVID-19. He’ll DH tonight as he eases back into action.
.@AdrianHouser12 takes the hill as the Crew begins a 3-game set against the Pirates starting tonight at 6:05 p.m. CT.
