Milwaukee’s Tailgate Podcast: Not the Innards

The Brewers bounce back against the Cubs as the offense starts to wake up

The Brewers’ offense started to perform more like we expected it to in the last week, thanks to the debut of Luis Urias, a sudden hot streak by Justin Smoak and Christian Yelich hitting more like Christian Yelich.

We talk about that in this week’s episode, and as it turns out, the Podcast Jinx may have been used for good once again, as Keston Hiura snapped a long draught with a big 3-run home run on Sunday after we recorded this episode, talking about how much he continued to struggle.

We also cover the impressive bullpen to this point, whether the Brewers should try tanking this year, and whether or not the ball is juiced in 2020.

You can get question priority in next week’s podcast and get access to the Minor League Extra podcast with Ryan Topp and BCB’s Brad Ford by becoming a patron at patreon.com/MKETailgate. In the last week, they interviewed Carlos Collazo of Baseball America about the Brewers’ draft and why they’re so high on the value they picked up in the five-round draft. We have a clip of that interview in this week’s podcast, but you can hear the whole thing by becoming a Ball and Glove patron for $5 a month.

You can listen to this week’s Milwaukee’s Tailgate here, the Spotify embed above, or just about anywhere else you get your podcasts. If you do listen, reviews are always welcome.
