Brewers option Angel Perdomo, recall J.P. Feyereisen from Alternate Training Site

After making three appearances and covering 2.2 innings for Milwaukee, the Brewers’ front office decided to option Angel Perdomo back to the Alternative Training Site in Appleton.

Perdomo flashed incredible potential with a fastball/slider combination from a 6’8” frame that had MLB hitters striking out at a very high clip (16.88 K/9). Unfortunately the big left-hander had issues with control as his BB/9 was 23.63. Even worse, although more a function of bad luck, when hitters put the ball in play against Perdomo they were getting on base (.500 BABIP). In the end, it looks like this very talented pitcher needs further refinement.

In a corresponding move, J.P. Feyereisen will be recalled from the Alternate Training Site. In his only appearance for the Brewers, he gave up a home run and posted a 9.00 ERA over one inning. The Wisconsin native gets a second chance to make an impression on the Brewers’ coaching staff.
