Manny Pina left Thursday evening’s game against the Cincinnati Reds with an apparent knee injury. He was hurt going back to first base on a pick off attempt by Wade Miley. Reports are he is having difficulty putting weight on the injured leg. Pina is on crutches, and he will be evaluated tomorrow to determine the extent of the injury.
Craig Counsell said Manny Piña will undergo further testing on his right knee tomorrow. He’s on crutches and having a hard time putting weight on it.

So far this season, Pina was slashing .231/.318/.410. And from the outside looking in, he looked stellar defensively. There is no word on who will replace Pina on the roster if he is down for a significant amount of time. The most likely candidate would be Jacob Nottingham or possibly David Freitas. Once we know more about Pina’s injury, we’ll pass it along.
