A’s down the Brewers, 9-1

Travis Shaw goes deep, while Josh Hader struggled

MLB: Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago White Sox Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Brewers and the Oakland A’s played this afternoon, and it was the A’s day as they won 9-1. The Brewers did jump on top in the top ofd the first when Travis Shaw hit a solo shot over the center field wall.

Unfortunately that was the extent of the offense for the Brew Crew on this day. The A’s, however, scored many runs. Three of those runs came off Josh Hader in the bottom of the third. Hader gave up two home runs in the inning to Austin Allen and Ramon Laureano. Those homers would chase Hader from the game, but he would be responsible for another run on a double by Vimael Machin that plated two.

The bottom of the fourth was a big inning for the A’s too. Miguel Sanchez started the inning and gave up three runs. Laureano had an RBI single. Mitch Moreland would drive in another on a double. Stephen Piscotty would add an RBI single to the mix.

The A’s would score one more in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double by Buddy Reed. By that time it was 9-1, and thankfully the game ended after seven innings.

The Brewers play again tomorrow against the Kansas City Royals. Josh Lindblom takes the hill for Milwaukee, and Mike Minor does the same for the Royals. First pitch is scheduled for 2:10 CT. The game can be seen on Fox Sports Wisconsin and heard on 94.5 ESPN Milwaukee.
