The moves keep on coming. With so many players on the injured list, it is no wonder. This time the Brewers look as if they are trying to get someone up with starting experience, as they add Jordan Zimmermann to the roster. Plus his opt-out date was on the horizon.
#Brewers make a move that puts two Wisconsinites on their roster and two UW-Stevens Pointers at that! Zimmermann joins J.P. Feyereisen. Pretty sure an opt-out was involved in this timing. https://t.co/tL7qbuC5n3

In a corresponding move, Milwaukee options Patrick Weigel to the Alternate Training Site. Weigel was just recalled from the Alternate Training Site this past Tuesday, and he pitched last night in the loss to the Marlins where he pitched two scoreless innings.

Zimmermann was once a top-of-the-rotation starter for the Washington Nationals, but those days are well in the rearview mirror. The Brewers are likely hoping for something more solid than he showed in Spring Training however. Over five appearances, he pitched to a 7.88 ERA.
