The Futures Game will showcase some of the top prospect talent in minor league baseball in a National League vs. American League contest.
All 30 MLB teams have some representation in the Futures Game, and teams are capped out at two appearances. LHP Ethan Small will represent the Brewers in this years’ contest.
Small is the Brewers’ #4 prospect and has clipped his way through the minor leagues after being drafted out of Mississippi State in 2019 and spending 2020 at the Brewers’ alternate site. Small’s fastball-changeup combination relies on placement, deception, and sequencing, and has served him well on his farm system climb.
So far in 2021, Small has moved on to Triple-A Nashville after producing a 1.96 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across eight starts and 41.1 innings in Double-A Biloxi. Just getting started in Nashville, Small has already put up six shutout innings with the Sounds.
6 shutout innings on 3 hits for Ethan Small tonight as the @nashvillesounds lead Louisville 1-0 mid-6 in Music City. #Brewers

While Brewers fans with an eye to the future anticipate a Small call-up, fans can see him live at the Futures Game on All-Star Sunday, July 11th, in Denver on MLB.com, MLB Network, or SiriusXM at 2pm CT.
