This move might not be sexy, but it will likely be productive and for a long time. The Milwaukee Brewers traded catching prospect Payton Henry to the Miami Marlins for reliever John Curtiss.

Curtiss adds to the Brewers’ formidable bullpen in a big way. With Miami in 2021, Curtiss pitched to a 2.48 ERA with a 3.21 FIP and 1.08 WHIP. He is striking out 9 per 9 and opposing hitters are not getting walked and chasing at a high rate.

And here is the best part. He is controllable for years to come.
John Curtiss is not a rental. Four more years of control.

While the Dodgers, Mets, White Sox, and Giants go after the big names, the Brewers continue to make the savvy picks. Things are getting very interesting.
