The Brewers are expected to sign Franklin Morales to a minor-league contract in the next day or two. The team hasn't made an announcement yet, it's most likely pending a physical (per Adam McCalvy). While the results for Morales were good last year (3.18 ERA, 3.52 FIP), he's the definition of a LOOGY (3.70 FIP, .205/.288/.327 vs. left-handed batters; 5.19 FIP, .278/.371/.465 vs. right-handed batters). He has value as a LHP, but is probably just a minor-league depth option at this point.
Good move IMO, this will improve the Brewers OF defense I'm 2016 and hopefully beyond.

Please let this be the most predictive measure of minor league talent.
Not sure if this has been shared here on BCB yet, but either way, I just want to say how much I love this video. Really makes you want Counsell to be the manager for the long haul... to when the Brewers win the World Series in 3-5 years and beyond!
Today MLB released the full lineup of Spring Training jerseys and caps. The new jerseys include some new features, like a state patch for the league they are in and a lighter fabric. What's interesting here for the Brewers is that in these new jerseys, the Brewers have elected to use their new alternate design. Is this a sign of things to come? We'll have to wait and see.
So the Brewers are unveiling a new alternate jersey at this weekend's Fan Fest. Click the link to check them out. They're pretty solid.
BUT the real news here is these jerseys will be replacing the navy blue road jerseys and more importantly those hideous bile gold jerseys. Yes. That's right. Those awful jerseys are finally gone!
If you've been following along with the countdown, you know there are only 69 days until MLB's opening day. The Brewers first game is a couple days later. But you can register now for a chance to buy tickets to that game. Brewers hold a sort of lottery to give an equal chance to all fans. Just click the link and enter the relevant info. And to those who do enter, good luck!
