Important MLB Dates

I think tcyoung posted this last year, and I used it frequently. Just a quick reference spot for passing the time until opening day.

Leslie Nielsen dies

Yeah, not 100% Brewers-related, but had a lot of ties to Milwaukee and there was at least one episode of "Police Squad" with the Brewers mentioned...

Brewers sign OF Brandon Boggs (another former Ranger)

Because where we were really lacking in 2010 is in the number of former Rangers on the roster.

Brewers offer arbitration to Hoffman, who agrees to decline

Hoffman is a Type B free agent, so the Brewers will now receive a compensation draft pick if he signs a major league deal with another team.

Brewers make offer to Hinske, waiting to hear from Counsell and Capuano

How many World Series have Hinske and Counsell been to, combined? 800?

Pujols does not win NL MVP

That Joey Votto guy won. I thought that would make some people around here happy. :)

Rangers sign Barret Loux

The Rangers signed Arizona's 1st round pick (6th overall) who was declared a free agent after failing a physical and not coming to terms with Arizona. The reason I mention this is because this is how deep farm systems are built, and considering we didn't sign Covey, this was a risk worth taking. So well done dougie, the downward spiral of the farm system continues, and he is not taking the opportunities to fix it.

Eric Farris, Dan Merklinger and Wily Peralta added to 40-man roster

According to Tyler Barnes

Brewers, Weeks talking extension

According to Jon Heyman, they're meeting today.

ALERT: Axford has shaved

He just posted this on Twitter about 15 minutes ago. Of course, it looks like he had already toned down his facial hair between now and the end of the 2010 season, so hopefully the glory will be back for Opening Day 2011. EDIT: False alarm.
